I checked the fuses and there doesn't seem to be any that are blown. In addition, all of the instruments are functioning, they just do not illuminate with the headlights. How difficult is it to remove the instrument cluster? How many bulbs are located within it? How easy is it to change them?
I have also just discovered that I cannot open the tailgate. I had it open a few times but I went to open it and it won't even unlatch from the inside or the outside and yes I made sure it was unlocked. The handles operate and the lock turns freely but the door will not open. Could the childproof lock somehow be preventing the door from opening? Can I gain access to the lock mechanism by removing the panel on the inside of the door?
