The valves that are controlled by the motors go bad and rattle and cause the problem.
Get the pcv hose replaced
The motors always fails but they do not cause problems with State inspections and the like.
Trust me after the hoses are replaced you will find the problem solved.
trust me I have gotten freelanders to pass inspection by replacing the one hose and then resetting adaptions and driving to clear monitors.
