Sounds like it is time to start looking for a vaccum leak, start at the control unit behing the battery and jack area, check all the vaccum hoses in and out of there, check the long hose that runs up thru the fire wall to a switch at the brake pedal.
Leaks are usually the biggest problem, should be an easy find.
