Charged with having hypodermic syringes and needles. But it's okay to have a liposuction machine!
Off topic, but...
I was returning to the US after traveling in East Africa (Uganda, Tanzania & Kenya). In my baggage was a first aid kit that included syringes and needles. JFK customs found the stuff and held me for a few hours, while I repeatedly explained to en endless stream of representatives from various agencies that I wasn't a drug user. It was simply that there's a whole lot of HIV in sub-Saharan Africa, and medical equipment there is scarce and usually has not been sterilized, so it's absolutely necessary that you carry your own.
Eventually I was released (I guess they believed me), and they didn't even confiscate the "evidence", but was told to get a letter from a registered medical professional. I was later informed by my brother-in-law, who happens to be a urologist (plumbing MD) that I was also carrying 'illegal' drugs - a broad spectrum antibiotic and Myprodol (pain-killer and anti-infammatary), both of which require prescriptions.
