Default Transmission and Tires

have any of you guys heard of trouble caused by running larger tires on a 1971 Series IIA transmission? i know i've seen a guy on the gon2far website put the 109 1-ton spring mounts and shackles on an 88 and run 35's but i can't remember if it was a IIA or the later Series three gear box.

the reason i ask is a friend of my dad was talking to someone down at the local Land Rover dealer who said that the larger tires cause problems for the IIA transmission.

any information would be greatly appreciated, thanks in advance, Greg and Bragan.
by the way the tires we have on are BFGoodrich M/T's 33x10.50R15's
