Yeah I figured out by simply reading the owner's manual that this red Service Engine light is an emmisions reminder check up light.
However this light is supposedly supposed to only come on at 50,000 miles. My truck had exactly 159,000 miles when the light came on.
I was told elsewhere to look around for a module on the passenger side of the vehicle and reset/disconnect it. It would be under the passenger seat or lick panel. I still have yet to find it. So I know now it is a mileage light.
I have not yet tried disconnecting the battery yet. If I can't find or can't find these modules, I will try that next. Otherwise I will end up biting the bullet and have the dealership reset shit for me.
