And there is a decrease in useable light output when you get over about 5500K. The 8000k's still put out more light than my factory high beams though. And the only night driving the truck sees is in town where everything is already bright. I have 5300k HIDs in my Explorer and they are more of a light pink/purple while the Rangie's 8000k lights are a dark blue/purple.
I will be putting HIDs on the Disco when I install the '03 Headlights- should be a fun project.
