I found a rebuilt alt from Autozone for a 92 RRC, $89.99. Surprised they had one. It was a direct fit, I installed it in the parking lot under a street light (might be a redneck) , it has worked for over two years no problem. However when I accel the headlights get brighter and the a/c fan goes into superhigh. I would assume the voltage regulator is within the alternator, but who knows with rover could be under my seat.
