I think using premium is like cheap insurance. 87 Octane will retard the timing and possibly make the engine knock. I think in an emergency you could use 87 but my nerves would be on edge for the whole tankful and I would be as gentle on the throttle as possible. I've thought of buying some octane booster and leaving it in the Diso Just in case, but I've never put anything but peremium in it so far and don' t plan to.
