There's six feet between the back of the front seats, and the rear door, but that's only usable if you take the back seats right out. Otherwise, with the backseats folded forward, there is only 5'4" from the rear door to the folded up seats. Keep in mind that the floor drops of to make a footwell for the rear passengers, so you'll need to make up a filler piece to fit in there too.
My son just made a deck for the back of his 109, which gives him storage underneath, and, since it is level with the top of the wheel boxes, gives him a much wider flat area.
