I am sorry Funrover, but I am not sure what point you are making. My point in posting the photos of the black D2 was that you can fit nearly 35 inch tyres and have better articulation on a D2 without doing a 5 inch spring lift.

The only time that I get upset is when people make bold statements with little or nothing to back it up. I will always attempt to explain why I believe something to be better or worse. As in this thread I have not said simply that 5 inch spring lifts are crap, I have attempted to explain why I do not believe they are required and some of the issues they can cause. I usually do not comment on areas where I agree with other posts. Therefore the posts of mine that you read may tend to be disagreeing with what someone else has said. But is that not what people on this forum want. That is, to get as many views as possible nad make up their own mind.

You have commented on the expense in doing such an exercise. The question is whether that money could be better used on other mods.
