I only have anecdotal evidence, but my '89 wrangkler has 255k miles, and I've used only pennzoil since I've had it (since 140k) and have no complaints. My 98 disco has 189k, and I only use pennzoil since I bought it (since 140k). My 90 Mustang GT has 173k miles, and you guest it, since 140k miles. I use only pennzoil in all of my vehicles and its been great. I also use fram filters in them all. Some would say I live dangerously! ha ha.
So, total of 198k miles of combined pennzoil protection in last 10 years or so, and no issues. Unless your doing synthetic, find a brand you like and stick with it. JMHO.
