Block sand to find imperfections in the primer. Particularly where the spot putty was used. While it may look smooth in the primer coat, once the color is on & the solvents have done their magic, you can have some unforseen problems. Don't be afraid to use a guide coat on the primer, a light dusting of black paint to find low spots that require additonal sanding, primer, block sanding.
