You better take a look at your rear diff, sounds like you broke it, most likely the spider gears. When this happens, you can put it in high or low and not move, even though the rear shaft will turn, put it in high or low lock and the front drive shaft will pull you while the rear will still have no power.

Mike, if he can move with the center locked, but not when it's unlocked, it could be either diff, or any axle or CV broken. whichever, all the power is going to go to the broken joint; lock the center and power is going to go to each end equally.
