Default Bushing Replacement with pics.

I am not going to do as detailed a write up as I did on the rear bumper install because this kit came with excellent instructions. I will add some pictures though so you can get an idea of what it takes.

This is what you will be replacing the bushings in. The main reason I did this was to eliminate slop in my steering. The main culprit was the panhard rod bushings which were pretty trashed. I am very pleased with the performance for dollar spent. I got the kit from 4x4ag.com.

Removing the front is the most time consuming as it need to be jacked up and supported.

To remove the ball joints simply hit them on the side with a good hammer after loosening the nuts and they will pop right out.
Here are some before and after pics:

I removed the arms and took them to a local machine shop to have them pressed out. I was charged $5 per bushing to have them pressed out. I put the new ones in myself. The new bushings are two pieces with a steel sleeve.

The rear arms can be removed with the vehicle on the ground. When replacing the rear arms you can open up the bracket on the axle with a hammer so the arms slide in easier. This will ensure you don't tear them like i tore one of mine.

The bushings made a huge difference and will provide a solid platform for lifting my truck. The stock bushings were so worn they were downright unsafe. Later.
