I've never heard of a tierod coming undone... as for spot welding it on, that might be a cure, but I would not want to be the one to have to take it off, or to adjust the alignment. Usually the problem is getting them loose in the first place when you need to change them. I think if it is a common problem in your area, that I might be using th torque wrench on it whenever I do my oil change..... just a thought..
