Hi Norville, I was in your position about 6 months ago. I can tell you you made a wise decision to join this forum. These boys know their Rovers. I really think you are making another wise choice in buying a Rover as well. My wife and I really liked Land Rovers and were actually looking at Discos because we thought we wouldn't find or couldn't afford a Range Rover. We looked at several and came to the same conclusion as the rest of these guys and bought the nicest one we could find. We found a '93 LWB with 89k miles and unbelievably clean for $3500. We couldn't believe our luck, we bought it on the spot! We love it. So far it has been perfectly reliable. I had all fluids and filters changed per the advice of these guys. For now it is my wife's daily driver. We already agree that we plan to keep it forever, pass it along to my son or, if I'm allowed, take her off road. By the way, this one already had the air suspension replaced with coil springs. A very wise move, so I understand. It also has the 4.2 liter engine which is fairly peppy. I had heard that the 4.0 liter may be more troublesome, maybe stick with the 3.9 or 4.2. Hope my amateur advise helps.
