Avoid ABS if you can (I have not managed to do this), Get everything you can (modifications) already done if done well, it's much cheeper. I waited 4 years for a friend to sell his 1992 while I slowly built my 1995. When it popped up for sale I jumped because I knew the history and could keep my other one or sell it later.
Is there a local Land Rover club you can get in touch with? Get to know them, go to the meetings. Take your time!
