Default Brakes.. ask a pro.. ( not me! )

Thats funny, I always look for low dust pads for my Audi's, but the thought never accured to me on the rover.. probably because less dust equals less bite ( maybe not so true in newer generations of pads )... I have always had good luck with Padgid.. not sure if they make them for the Dubs.. Lockheed I think is the maker of the original pads.. I think British Pacific had a special on pads on thier deal of the day last week.. Anyway, Call them up they will get you a good deal on what ever type of pad you decide on.. Remember there is a WIDE price range for these pads.. good pads will set you back more.. I remember buying a complete set of Lockheed pads for $68 bucks about 6 years ago..They will also give you good advice on which ones are right for your type of driving.. You can probably pick up a cheap set from NAPA too.

Here is my advice on the noise,,, The PO on my Rover had put 2 of the pads on the wrong side.. there is usually one side of the pad that is cut at an angle to avoid making the pad chatter ( which causes the noise ) this cut edge should be the leading edge as the rotor turns into it. Also, if your pads do NOT come with a backing on top of the metal plate, then its a good idea to put some brake pad anti squeal on the back of the pads, at least a few hours before you put the pads on.. ( 24 hours is better ) .. If you do both of those things you will have noise free pads for the duration of thier service life..

Ohh and get a MOTIVE power bleeder.. they are the best!!... Best $40.00 investment I have ever made..
