Scott, as a D1 owner, I can't answer all your questions but I can say, however, you should be pretty safe with a 2 inch lift on a D2. Although every vehicle is different, you should be OK with wear and tear under normal driving conditions and a little bit of offroading. Some vehicles do OK with a 2 inch lift and need no more mods - like mine, I was lucky - others need more mods, such as new driveshafts and so forth to accomodate for the lift. Every vehicle is different so just do it and see what you need. If it drives different than before - and it will - what I mean is, if it drives poorly such as wandering or a lot of shaking, just let us know and we can help you solve it. Good luck!
