Thanks for your reply but they can't be rock chips since the car is driven only in a quiet suburban neighborhood with no rocks or construction sites, and when on the highway has never had any rocks or sand or debris hitting it. Also no bad weather as it lives in sunny California. Also, if rocks were hitting the car there would be damage on other areas of the car. These are tiny tiny little pin prick size pits.
