FYI... for others...
The ring on the inside of the rear brake rotors IS an anti-lock brake ring. It is attached to the rotor with studs and 10mm nuts (1997 D1). It must be removed to access the bolts that attach the rotor to the hub.
An impact wrench is a necessity to remove the rotor/hub bolts. Maybe a strong man could do it with a vise and breaker bar.
