On an OBD2 D1, the codes will still be stored in the computer. You will need to delete the codes using a code reader. Places like Auto Zone and such are releuctant to delete codes for you unless shown proof positive you have actually fixed the problem(liability reasons). If you have a Harbor Freight around you, they sell cheap code readers($50). If you have a Rover you'll need one.
