Check the e-box fan. It is located under the hood, Pass. side. inside and on the bottom of the strangly shaped box just in front of the strut tower. The fan draws air from inside the vehicle, so therefor it sounds like it is coming from inside. Just replaced one on an 03 RR two weeks ago
