how did they look, and did you check fuel pressure while running and stationary?
if there are no broken pcv hoses or lean codes then its possible with the fuel presure good you have an issue with coolant leaking into the cylinders and may need a headgasket or more.
last time I had that with just leaks it ended up being an engine due to the heads were pitted.
