How long did she drive it while it was hot? Quiet often when they overheat and you intermix the fluids, it can be caused by a dropped sleeve.
You will need to verify that first, as for the head, put a straight edge to them, I think the limit is .004, if they are warpped over that you will need to resurface and inspect for cracks, valves shouldn't need an work done on them.
Go to Atlantic British or DAP and order one of the factory head gasket sets and a full set of new head bolts. Past that, change out the hoses and the t/stat, probably replace the serpentine belt if it is showing any wear as well as the belt tensioner and idler pulleys.
As for instructions, find yourself a Rave CD with the shop manual on it, great way to go.
