Hello all.
A few suggestions before I take this to the shop would be highly appreciated.
A while back, my PS pump was whining really bad, so I purchased a "used" PS pump and installed it. While installing it, I was unable to get the PS fluid to bleed through the pump at all. I was using Lucas PS fluid which is much less viscous than most PS fluids, so I thought that may have been the issue as to why it didn't bleed through. Not knowing what to do, I drove my 96 disco for quite a long time with the new "used" PS pump installed (not working of course), hoping it might mysteriously bleed through on its own and begin operating.
I am confident it is installed correctly. The obvious conclusion is the that new "used" PS pump was no good in the first place. For some reason though I think it is fine, because if it were failing it would work at least a little and just make lots of noise!
So my question is this - has any one ran into this before, and does anyone have any suggestions? Did i just not bleed it properly? Any ideas on how to get this to work short of dropping it off at my local shop???
Thanks!
William
