Default ACE removal idea that might work

I've read all the threads about "can i remove ace" and "can i just get a smaller belt." We'll today, i talked to a local LR mechanic and they informed me that ACE cannot be disabled with testbook. So after hearing that the ECU cannot be reset to deactivate ACE I had a thought.

Why can we not just swap our ecu out for one that came on a standard D2? Most of us convert to coils anyway so it would already have sls disabled. ACE would of never been on the other ecu. Would this not work? Other than the ecu swap, it would only require the removal of the ACE system and sway bars off of a standard junkyard d2. Am I wrong? Has this been covered? If so, im sorry. I couldnt find it.
