What to do
Putting some feelers out there guys.
Saturday my wife did not realize that there was a sheet of ice on our roads, so traveling at about 45 MPH she ended up going into a spin and the front passenger wheel caught the edge of the road which is about 10” lower then the asphalt and managed to roll her Discovery over on it’s side.
She claims she was only doing 10MPH tops but the local constable said to me there was no way she was going that slow…. So a couple friends of mine who work for the town managed to get the Disco back on all fours and my wife insisted on driving it home.
I’m sitting in our living room enjoying a quite Saturday with a good cup of coffee when two town trucks show up and my wife’s Disco….
I only saw the passenger side looking out our living room window so naturally I had no clue what was going on. I slipped on my boots and went outside to see what all the commotion was about, when my wife got out of the rear door I knew something was wrong.
The drivers side of “ol snoopy” was all covered in reed grass, dirt & mud… surprising enough no windows were broken but the roof edge was folded over the tops of the doors, the drivers mirror was hanging off by it’s wires and you could hear the hiss of both driver’s side tires loosing air but she managed to get it home.
So with that said…. I have to figure where to go, should I fix it?
The damage assessment is as follows:
Roof, both front fenders, rear door, hood, passenger side rear panel, driver-side rear quarter (could be hammered out) and possibly two wheels.
Most of the mechanical damage I suspect is minimal and that doesn’t bother me all that much we were planning on somewhat of a rebuild this winter anyway.
