I would have the overheating issues looked into and drive the trucks as little as possible until that is solved. Overheating these motors is a very destructive thing five minutes of overheating can cause a host of problems i.e. warped heads cracked heads dropped liner on a cylinder.
and with a disco II in america you have a gas v8 no diesel option here.
