While there are many parts that can make clunks, such as U-joints, driveshaft slip joints, etc, I suspect the noise is most likely a suspension bushing. While the truck is sitting on the ground, you can grab any part and shake the crap out of it without reproducing the sound, or, actually, the movement making the sound. When you're driving, the forces are significantly greater than you can produce by hand, especially considering that almost all the componants have a bushing at two ends, and only one may be bad.. First thing is to get it up on a frame lift, taking the body weight off the suspension and suspended members.
