ok so I purchased 4 new neapco ujoints and had them replaced at the end of Sept. Driving home from taking my little girl back to her mothers and the front ujoint transfercase side failed

. As a result the yoke on that end of the driveshaft got smashed from hitting everything underneath.
My question is how can I tell if it is the u-joint that failed or if it was the mechanic not installing it correctly that caused it to fail

? The ujoint on the transfercase is still in tact but the caps were missing (i'm assuming it was the caps that failed

).
