Yup it sounds like your brake pads are loose fella. If they become worn (and even soem brand new pattern parts - crap manafacturing) the pads rattle around in the carrier, as you apply the brake there will be a small clonk and then it'll be silent. Lift off and the rattle will come back again.

You can try taking them out and applying some copper grease to the carrier where the pad sits, that sometimes helps. Failing that it is new pads and if you can get LR originals as they fit better!
