I would not recommend doing the three inch pipe, the rover engine achieves maximum torque at lower RPM's, so you would lose some of that low end torque going to a larger diameter pipe.
I prefer the Magnaflow over the Flowmaster, but its not going to sound as mean as what you are describing you want. The Magnaflow is a bit mellower sound(less chance of it droning in the cab as well), but I think its a better muffler performance wise than the Flowmaster, but if you are not going to do anything else to the engine then it does not really matter.
If you just want it for sound, go with the Flowmaster.
