Unless you want to eat dinner in the dirt of the arena, there is no other place in Moab that can hold the number of people we are having, let alone at a cheaper price. That also still doesn't address trail guides. We are limited by the BLM to have no more than 12 vehicles per trail. Training is free, cocktail party is free, food at vendor Day is free, banquet is free, shirts for all participants are free, fees for BLM and State land trust are paid by us during guided trail runs. LRNA did put up money for the banquet, but there are a lot of other fees that need to be paid for as well, like the arena, insurance...
Plus there is the raffle after the banquet, though you need to buy tickets for it.
You could just come out on your own, but you couldn't participate in any of the other activities, and couldn't run the trails that we are running with one of our groups.
