michellecam....im from Ajax and I have a 2000 Disco II....In my opinion, the LR3's lost some of the rugged appeal from when it was the Disco II. I bought mine at a 3rd party dealer (in Nov 06) and saved around $5K from what the dealer would have wanted. I have put $6K in repairs and maintenance since then, so basically if I had purchased a repair free vehicle (up to this point) from the dealer I would have broken even. I say that if you can find one for considerably less at a 3rd party dealer, buy it there. But have your mechanic do a full bumper to bumper inspection on it prior to purchase. Even if you have some repairs down the line, the money you save avoiding the dealership should put you ahead in the long run.
