DC... after reading your last post..... no offence, but are you sure you want a Series? I am usually the last one to try and talk someone out of a Series truck. But from what I am reading, I am not sure that a Series is up your alley. The Series can be maintence hogs, and if you cannot do it yourself, then it is gonna be expensive. Now if you had a reliable car for everyday and this was a weekend truck, then yes, they are good to learn on. Remeber as well that the Series that you are buying maybe up to 20 years older than the truck you currently have and unless it is a completely rebuild one from a place like ECR (which probably would be out of your price range, I know it is out of mine...) then you have 30 plus years of issues to deal with.
Now, that being said... when I bought my truck, if some one had of said "You will be comfortable doing an engine rebuld in 2 years." I would have laughed at them. However, my situation being that the Series was my only mode of transportation other than my feet( country living at the time meant no public transport), meant that I had an extremely steep learning curve that I almost did not cross (still learning myself... they never give you a chance to stop learning..) . I would hate to see you get your truck, and then get too frustrated with it and give it up. I might be more tempted to go with something like a Volkswagen Jetta Diesel, almost as simple as a Rover, yet alot cheaper to run.
Just my 2 cents... take it or leave it....
