I'm in Saskatoon and have a 2002 DII, went from the GY to Michelin Latitude Tour HP. They've been great this winter and no sliding around. The Michelins are realy a street tire and aren't made for serious off-road but they seem to work well on the streets in all conditions and I've had no problems on gravel roads either.
I got a set of winter tires for the car and it made a huge difference this winter, I've seen this size in winter tire and am even thinking of doing the same on the Disco; just not sure I want to spend the $ on a second set, $1,700 for the Michelins was enough to gag on.
That's my two cents for what it's worth but hope it helps.
