I've run GoodYear MT/R (35x12.5x15) on a Full Size 87 Jeep Wagoneer...They were great on and off road and not loud at all (for a mt tire). The Wagoneer is similar sized weight wise to a RRC...so I see no problems. I think they'd be great on a RRC...I had over 20k miles on them when I sold the Jeep and they were hardly worn. I think the biggest problem people have with poor tire performance is either wrong sized rim/tire combos, incorrect air pressure, or just plain worn out front end parts. With those big tires and the Jeep I ran it about 25psi with 10" rims...that gave me the correct, even contact patch.
