Default Cruise control not working.

My cruise control went out awhile back. After getting under the hood a few months ago I found a bad vacuum hose that was going into the Cruise control. Well I pulled the hose and replaced it a new hose and clamped it on. I took it out for a test and still no cruise. It felt like it tried to engage a few times but never would agian. Any ideas on what else could be long or what to maybe look for.
