Battery Ground Question 1994 Disco I
I am just fixing up this 1994 Disco I, I got, and due to sluggish starting with brand new battery when the truck is warm, I started thinking about the battery negative (ground) cable. I traced it to where it is connected to the frame of the truck, and that is all I found. Does the engine have a ground strap to the engine or body somewhere? If so, where would I look. If I were going to add one, what would be the advisible point on the engine to attach one? This may be my problem, or may not. But a lot of problems can be due to poor connections between the battery and the vehicle electrical systems. Since I only found an attachment to the frame, I am also wondering about a ground strap from frame to body? Or is this supposed to be accomplished thru the body bolts?
I could add two more negative "strapping" cables to the battery negative attachment point-where the battery negative cable is bolted to the frame, and one of these cables could go to the engine (somewhere) and another could go to the body. That would ensure a good return and full voltage at all times. Opinions?
