Pete; Here's your major issues as I see them:
1) A 305 tire will be too wide for your DII, with your current suspension set-up.
a) You will have issues stuffing the tires at full articulation, on the fender flare lip, where it connects to the inner fender.
b) Your turning radius will suck, and the tire will be too wide for full lock to lock, even if you Adjust your steering stops.
c) This could also put undue stress on your power steering box, leading to premature failure.
2) That tire is tall enough you will start to have wear and tear issues further down the driveline. I don't know the specifics of it, or why, but 33" seems to be the magic breaking point for failure on DII's. Not just over here, but on the UK and European websites as well. You will lead yourself to HD rear axles, HD CV's, HD driveshafts, Lockers, and so on...
3) Remember that you want to always have a full size spare with AWD, so you don't mess up your drivetrain. Will you have room on your door for a 305? Will you be willing to mount on your roofrack. Etc...
