Khan: Do I understand you that after replacing the fuel pump, plug wires and having a valve job (expensive), your Disco ran fine for a year and now quit again? What actually did the problem turn out to be a year ago? Was it the fuel pump - it wasn't the valves surely!
Are the symptoms now identical to a year ago?
If the problem is electrical, it could be a ground (there are many electrical grounds, any of which could be loose, broken or corroded); it could be the ignition switch or a bad wire...
May I recommend you find a really good Independent mechanic who is good a diagnosing electrical problems. A good Indy Land Rover shop will have tons of used parts so they can replace components (if necessary) and isolate the problem. Then get the mechanic to put that part in new. This type of work can be labour intensive, but a skilled techie should find the problem quickly.
Cheers and best of luck.
