I installed one last fall on my 99 Discovery II, added a magnaflow muffler and chopped off the resonator(I also use a K and N filter, but people on this forum say they ruin your MAF sensor).

There is quite a bit of difference in power. When I drive my wife's 2001 Discovery it now feels kind of gutless in comparison.

It does not hurt gas mileage, starts the same, idles the same, warms up the same. My Disco has to pass emissions this month so I will find out if there is any issues there, but so far no regrets. Love it actually.
