As for the radio code not working, somebody more then likely tried to enter the code in to many times. It only allows you to try a few times before locking up. The code you got from LR should be correct, but if I remember right you have to leave your key in the 2nd position for something like 30 mins to rest the system and then you can enter the correct code into the radio. Atleast that is what I had to do for the radio to work in my 97 Disco.
