I agree with the premise that it would be a good project. Get an 84-85 5 bearing longblock. Get hardened valves, and make sure the exhaust valves are sodium filled for heat issues. Get some HD, or titanium valve springs. "T" the oil line to the head, just because it's easier. I think your biggest problem will be designing an exhaust manifold that will allow mounting of the turbo, and still have clearance for everything else. One thing I have always hated about engines with the intake and exhaust manifolds so close to each other. Great idea. Go for it, and good luck.
