besides you have to remove the shield underneath to do the oil change. Plus the shield itself is actually apart of the subframe and adds to the stiffening of the subframe. Remove it and you will find it tips a bit more on turns.
I just think 7500 miles is a bit too long interval on a regular oil.
For the last service I gave them synthetic oil so now it should be fine w/ 6000-7000 miles interval.

For those who lives far from a dealer (some live 300-400 miles away), DIY oil change may be a good way to save alot of time... and money considering gas prices.
