Default Replace fuel hose to tank

After filling up my '95 classic this morning I noticed (what I feared) fuel running down the right rear mud flap. Hoping it was dirty water coming off the truck as it rained this morning I put my finger on a drop for the smell test - definitely gas.
I looked up under and a fuel hose is leaking. It appears a hose comes down from the filler cap and then has a fitting onto a hose that runs towards the opposite side of the truck and goes over what I'm guessing is the fuel tank. This hose (about 1" OD) is cracked and leaking.
Is my guess correct that this hose goes on top of the fuel tank and then connects to the fuel tank from above? And if so, how would I go about replacing it? Must the fuel tank be removed?
