I agree with Brooksa on the no greaseable u-joints being what your Dad is talking about.

Also if your interested in a club in the area that has monthly meets for trail runs look up SNHLR - Southern New Hampshire Land Rovers (Southern New Hampshire Land Rover Club) We have members all over New England and get together every month for wheeling trips. Great group of guys and gals, that have a lot of fun putting our Rovers through their paces. The site is going through some changes so from the home page click on the forum tab and navigate from there the home page isn't quite finished being updated yet.


On the rust issue bedliner is pretty durable but if your going that route you have to make sure the undercarriage is extremely clean. As you don't want to trap dirt mud etc under the bedliner. The other problem can be if you get moisture trapped under the bedliner that it will hold it against the metal and help rot it out quicker.
