WHy not go with Linux? I resurected an ancient machine (386 with 216 ram) and put Linux on it. Using a fairly full featured Linux OS it runs very well. It was even running a server at one point. The unit you have, would be quiet fast (compared to running a windows OS) and there is just about every type of free ware program you would ever need. The new open ofice is even better than Offoce 2003 by Microsoft. Just a thought.
